□ Personality: Like many high elves, Sylvanas was proud and vain in life, but unlike most of her brethren, she was far more flexible when it came to other races. She recognized the skills of the human ranger Nathanos Marris and took him on as her pupil, refusing to give in to the demands of the high elven crown prince to remove him from the elven rangers. As the Ranger-General of Silvermoon and the first line of defense in her land, Sylvanas was fiercely protective of her nation; during the Third War as Arthas and his horde of undead attacked, she sent messenger after messenger trying to warn the capital of his advance, even as she was slowly pushed further and further back. However, she refused to back down and continued to stubbornly resist and fight back against Arthas and his army every step of the way, as she evacuated the countryside, sacrificing her rangers to protect the non-fighting populace. She continued to fight, even until the end, as she faced Arthas with her remaining forces and fought against him one on one despite her exhaustion. Upon her defeat, she refused to beg for mercy or her life, only demanding for him to give her the clean death she deserved.

Unfortunately, her stubbornness had provoked Arthas' ire; her tortue, death, and rebirth as his undead banshee changed her destiny forever and shaped her into who she is today. Abandoned and rejected by the living and nature itself - the very core of her ranger arts and skills - Sylvanas had grown colder, ruthless, and bitter, not above using deceit and guile in her quest for vengeance against him. Despite having the chance to finish him off after she breaks free from his control, she refused to grant him a quick and easy death, determined to make sure he suffered as she had. While it allowed him to escape, she vowed to never stop hunting him, and held true to that promise. Creating a whole new nation literally overnight from the undead that had freed themselves from Arthas' grasp, calling themselves the 'Forsaken' in regards to how the world itself has turned its back against them, the former Ranger-General became the Banshee Queen of this new race.

She is fiercely protective of this fledgling race and is determined to viewed as people in their own right and not simply just a scourge or plague that will eventually die out. As she leads her army against Gilnean forces, she will ask a Forsaken player character to ride with her once they have impressed her with their skill and fortitude. When three of her Val'kyr sacrifice themselves to save her life, she mourns their passing. The Forsaken themselves view her as their savior, breaking them free from Arthas' control, using her name and title for greetings and farewells, such as 'Victory for Sylvanas' and 'Dark Lady watch over you.' However, many have noticed a change in the Banshee Queen's personality, as she becomes more territorial and war-driven. She accuses the Death Knight, Koltira, of betraying her with his friendship of the Alliance-aligned Death Knight Thalassian, and drags him to her dungeon for torture, intending to teach him to how to behave as a 'proper' Forsaken undead. Several Forsaken are unhappy with this change in their leader and have left to join other factions, with one stating that Sylvanas was no longer the woman they used to know.

Despite having fully embraced her new identity, she’s still unable to fully shed her past. When given back the pendant that was given to her by her beloved older sister, she’s clearly overwhelmed, and has been sighted and heard singing an ancient high elven song of mourning. She can be overconfident at times too, failing to notice or underestimating several Forsaken plotting to rebel against her. In one of her greatest blunders, she is temporarily overthrown as leader of Undercity while she was away fighting Arthas, never suspecting that the demonic Dreadlord Varimathras that had been serving her faithfully for years had secretly been plotting to overthrow her from the Undercity the entire time. Considering she had forced him to swear loyalty to her or otherwise face death, it was due to her arrogance that she thought she had him completely under her thumb. While she defeated him and retook her city, the deadly plague potion that had been in his possession fell into her hands; it had been used on both Alliance and Horde forces at what was known as the Wrathgate incident and had destroyed both living and undead forces. But despite knowing full well the danger it held, Sylvanas found herself fascinated with the deadly concoction even with the horrific loss of life and the land it had been poured on rendered barren and sterile, and ordered her alchemists to reverse-engineer it.

Arthas was finally brought down, but Sylvanas found herself at a loss with the target of her vengeance gone and no compelling reason to remain in the world - except to to discover that in her afterlife, she was bound for the same hell Arthas was sent to. With this newfound knowledge, she found a new focus in life, and has focused on expanding Forsaken borders, increasing her race's population, and extending her own undead life. Ironically, she had turned to the same arts Arthas has used to create fresh new undead and is quite aware of the irony and hypocrisy. When questioned between the difference between her and Arthas, she mockingly responded that she served the Horde. She would use anything in her power that gives her an advantage, no matter how dubious or morally questionable they are. During the invasion of Gilneas, despite being ordered not to use the plague from Wrathgate by the Warchief of the Horde and promising that she would not, Sylvanas immediately orders for it to be deployed as soon as he leaves, completely disregarding his orders. She also kidnaps the daughter of the leader of the Gilneas' resistance force and holds her hostage, forcing him to withdraw unless she turned his daughter into one of them. And although she vouched for and supported the Blood Elves entering the Horde, she holds no love for the leader Lor'themar. During the siege of Orgrimmar, if he falls, Sylvanas gleefully wonders if he's dead and that she couldn't wait to see the look on his face when she re-animates his corpse.
□ Age: unknown; as a high elf her people were immortal until recently, so she could be anywhere from a hundred years to thousands of years old
□ Gender: female
□ Appearance: In life, she was pale-skinned with long blonde hair that went past her waist and glowing blue eyes; a beauty and she knew it. However in death, her skin has changed to a pale ice-blue, with her hair now white with a slight sickly yellow tint to it and eyes now glowing a unearthly red. She has long, pointed ears that jut out, along with quite pronounced eyebrows that arch off her face.
□ Abilities/Powers: A skilled archer, she claims she can hit a bird's eye in mid-flight. However, as she was the former Ranger-General and the commander of their elvish rangers, there is no doubting her skill. Death has not dulled it either, as she is still a formidable opponent for the average hero; there is a reason she was considered a legendary hero, as her speed and dexterity are something to behold. She's also skilled with melee weapons, as she can be seen dual-wielding two daggers while fighting against Arthas' scourge. She can also disappear and meld into the shadows, and as a ranger possesses extensive knowledge of tracking prey - whether it be human, monster, or animal - and blending it with her surroundings.

However, since being raised as an undead, she has been unable to use nature-attuned ranger spells and has turned to necromancy instead, able to drain life from others and summoning skeleton minions for a short period of time. In addition, she requires no need for sleep, food, water, or any other necessities of life.

She also possesses the ability to paralyze and harm a living being with her voice, as indicated by her title 'Banshee Queen'. When she lets out a shriek, she can immobilize a human or disorient a fully grown dragon.
□ Personal Items: Her armor, two concealed daggers and their sheaths, and her composite longbow, a ancient elven artifact that called Sunstrider's Longbow - arrows fired from this composite longbow are automatically imbued as though they were flaming ammunition, can strike incorporeal spirits, and are particularly effective against demons.
